Den primära bristen i resonemanget ligger kring påståendet och antagandet att vetenskapen inte känner till källkritiska problem med dateringstekniker. Detta resonemang för man eftersom det gör sig bra retoriskt inför de man predikar för. Kan man fördumma eller åtminstone skapa en slags konspiration av elaka vetenskapsmän som ljuger så vinner man massor av sympati hos en publik som överlag redan hyser stora komplex och ogillande gentemot vetenskapen.
